The first stakeholders’ consultation meeting was held on March 14, 2019, within the project dubbed “Developing the capacities of the Republic of Serbia for an effectiveengagement with the Green Climate Fund” funded by the Green Climate Fund,organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management in cooperation with UN Environment.

The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Senad Mahmutovic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and Mr. Hans Schodder, UN Resident Coordinator ad interim. The main goal of the meeting was to consult the stakeholders on the proposed institutional structure for verification and approval of projects for GCF financing, as well as on the Country programme, i.e. the list of national priorities for GCF financing.

The meeting was anopportunity to present the project as a whole, as well as the experiences of other countries in establishing the institutional structure and developing the Country Programme. The meeting was attended by more than 70 participants, representatives of state, provincial and local authorities, diplomatic corps, public and private companies, international and civil society organizations, financing institutions and others.
